Storytelling is one of the original forms of education, it was not meant for only children. Adults as much, employed storytelling to learnt about their livelihood, raising healthy individuals, political affairs, etc. Children tell one another stories through games. What sort of learning is embedded in traditional African stories and story games? . This talk will therefore explore and analyse a story and one children’s game collected from KwaZulu Natal. It will highlight the connection between people and their environment and also the potential of stories to teach. Findings are in line with the South African Outcome-based Curriculum Education System requirements.
